A.a low mileage used 2 door geo metro. you save on gas mileage, insurance, tires, oil, plus noone would want to steal it and parts are readily available at junkyards. You really have to shop around and see what's available in your area. Even a used car with an excellent reliability reputation can be terribly unreliable if it is not treated properly by the person who owned it before you. Check http://www.edmunds.com for lots of info. Also, check with Consumer Reports used car buying guide. I had a friend with a 93 Suzuki swift, the Geo's twin, which she ran to 350,000 kms with only replacing tires muffler and battery. Honda or Nissan. Buy from a private party if possible.
