Buy Here Pay Here Used Car Dealerships
Q.I have seen several signs in town on used car dealers signs that advertise "cash price". Can a dealer charge me less if I decide to finance the car? How about if I need to use sub prime or buy here pay here options?
A.Around here, some of the "Buy here, pay here" lots sell cars at two fixed rates ($ 2195 and $ 2795). The cars are worth a fraction of that. But you can drive away with no money down and a promise to pay every pay period. A lot of the cars end up back on the lot after a few months. The cars tend to be in pretty bad condition, but there's a lot of variation for the price, and you'll find vans, pickup trucks, and sedans all for the same flat rate. If you want to negotiate the price, you have to offer cash. And then you'd be much better off buying privately or from a reputable dealer.
