Buy Used Cars In Houston

Q.Cities with all white populations have had problems with the older areas, and it used to be called urban succession. The poor here live in older housing, just as the poor buy used cars. We do we assume that used costs less in all products except housing? I think we are better off than the Mexico City model. By the way, now that 1/3 of new housing is what used to be called trailers, how does that fit into your scheme?

A.But the trouble is that without rent control many poor people (and even in New York City and other very expensive places) can't find places to live at all that are within their range. Sure, they can work hard and buy a home eventually (which I've tried to remind abcdc of), but they do need a place to sleep while doing so. And abcdc is right when he sais that some landlords lack morality (though I don't think they're racists per-se). Without controls on apartment quality and government ownership of some buildings, landlords on older buildings might (and do) say "This building is in a bad neighborhood and won't ever get me high rents, so why should I maintain it at all. Maintenance on a building costs money. If the people who live there and pay me very little rent want to fix things, they can, but I'm not going to." The above is also a major incentive to local landlords for gentrification. It has also been witnessed here in Houston many times, the most recent being the death of a young boy from a parking lot gate which had gone unrepaired for months and fell on him. I tried to no avail to get abcdc to address mobile homes. They do, after all, cost very little and can be put in many places (though some cities, stupidly IMO, have ordinances against them). Oddly, in many mobile home developments near where I grew up in Maine, I see new cars and trucks in the driveways that cost more than the homes themselves. I guess it has something to do with that personal choice that abcdc doesn't seem to want to accept as reality.
