Buy Used Honda Cars

Q.I have been trying to find a four door accord for my daughter, a 94 or newer and havent had much luck, I did find a 94 with 99k on it and they still wanted 9k for it. I priced a new accord for 17500. I can get 99 model grand ams for 11900 with 20k on them. IT seems like a no brainer to me. What do you think?

A.Just thought I would let you know my little Honda story. I returned home about a year ago after living abroad - it was time to go back to grad school and I needed a good reliable car. I looked all over and I couldn't find anything in my price range with low km. School was about to start and I desparately needed a car for the commute - my criteria now changed, any good reliable car would do!!! I finally settled on an 89 Accord LX that had about 229,000 km on it - the price was within my budget (about $3,000 CDN) but I was really worried about the high km's. After about a year the metre now reads 271,000 km and I have had absolutely no problems with it. I have had the oil changed every 5,000 km and that is it. My original plan was to buy a new Honda once I finished school and started working, but my mechanic says that there isn't anything wrong with this car so I have decided to keep it and save my money for now.
