Q.My old 1993 Dodge Shadow may be headed for the Big Lot in the Sky. I need another used car. Maybe a 98 or 99, with under 50K on it. What are some reputable places to buy a used car around Chicago? I don't like the big dealerships and I don't know if I can trust any of the millions of little teeny lots around town. Recommendations? I like Dodge but will settle for something else if the price is right and the car is sweet and safe.

You will know in a second if they are going to play tricks ("come here and we wil see what we can do") or give you straight yes. 4. www.carfax.com wll tell you if the car was in accident by VIN. Ask car's VIN right over the phone, before going to the dealer. 5. if you have a car shop you trust, bring the proposed car to them for inspection.
