Companies That Buy Used Cars

Q.Aren't Fleet companies actually taking a bigger risk, financialy, when choosing a car than an indevidual? so the fact that they choose Cavaliers or Escorts means that they must have faith in these products. I know fleet companies have used these 2 models in the past , which would indicate that they must be pretty trouble free automobiles. otherwise companies wouldn't continue to buy them in such great numbers.

A.You are forgetting some of the larger Rental Car companies are owned by GM. Also rental car co. rarely keep the cars for longer than a year and the problems are passed on to idiots who buy used American cars from places like CarMax or Autonation. In addition the cavaliers and escorts are much much cheaper(these companies get great deals) on the American cars and when you buy in bulk every 1000 dollars you save really adds up. That is the only reason they continue to buy them. Thank goodness though, I know my Honda has a great resale value when I sell it while the idiot who bought a Taurus or Cavalier will practcally give their car away.
