Find Used Cars For Sell

Q.Looking at the new golf's, and beginning to wonder if picking up a slightly used one would be a better value. The dealer near me has a lot of recent golfs and jettas they want to clear out. I like the safety refinements and increased chassis rigidity of the 99's - is the new generation worth breaking the bank a bit more for what you're getting? (The last VW I owned was an '87 Jetta GLI.)

A.My 18 month old (at the time of purchase) Used 1995 Golf came with a 12 month bumper to bumper warranty (nearly bumper to bumper) that would have been hard for a private party to duplicate. Plus the car was expertly detailed and priced very competitively with anything else in the paper. Many times you will find late model used cars for sale in which the owner is upside down on the loan. In these cases, it can be hard for the prospective buyer to get the car at market rate. It is my opinion that you cannot blanket all used car deals from a dealer as bad. My experience is that some are good, some are not so good. So it is hard to generalize in this case - especially since we finally have a used car industry that is now willing to stand behind late model used vehicles by providing good warranties.
