Hertz Used Cars

Q.I'm in the market for a used Ford Escape. Hertz Auto Sales has a few 2002 Ford Escape XLT 4x4 for sale for about $16k. I checked with Ford and they said the original Ford warranties would still be in effect if I bought one and Hertz has their own additional 12 month/12k miles warrranty. Has anyonne ever purchased a car from Hertz? Am I crazy for wanting to buy a used rental car?

A.he last time i looked at a hertz car that they were selling it was in 1983, mustangs, everyone of them was looked under the motor area, the oil pan on each was coated with oil... when turning you could feel the struts giving way as they did not support the car very well........ for the price it was just a little more at the dealership....... and did you know that hertz buys their cars at discounts via volume and then sells them a year or two later and sells not at any loss.. its like them getting the cars for free and then renting them................. i would walk on these cars........................................... too much abuse in so short a time........
