question about used car dealer

Q.i am about ready for my 5.0 and i have been looking around at used car dealers and i am finding cars that are in good body shape but a lot of miles usually around 130,000. i do plan to get the engine rebuilt right away so that should not be a problem but is their any other really big problems. i could run into. please let me know. and let me know if you have ever had any bad run in's with used cars. i am going the used car route because i am about to turn 18 and i do not have a lot on money and the prices i find on some of thse cars seem really good.

A.I bought my mustang with 125K. The car was well maintained and came with alot of receipts. I now have 180K and still running everyday. I've had some parts go bad (Radiator, Battery, Starter, Heater Core, Clutch, Sensors) But it's a Ford. Yes Fix Or Repair Daily. I personally wouldn't buy from a dealer. Who know's what tricks they performed to make it look good. As for the choice of a 5.0 or 2.3. Go with a 5.0. I went the 2.3 route when I was 18. Bought it from a 65 year old lady, nonsmoker, grocery getter with 68k on the clock. The car was clean, but I got sideswiped long before I ever thought about the 5.0 upgrade and I had a slow car for 2yrs. If you go to a private owner, look around their garage and house(inside or out). If they take care of those things then they probably took care of the car. Look for oil change stickers. I've found cars with mileage rolled back with evidence right there.
