Whether to trust Blue Book ?!

Q.I was wondering about the major discrepencies in the Kelley's Blue Book on the Web versus the printed book. Reproduced below are some questions I had asked them over email, for which I got some response which is incomplete. I am curious to know where exactly are the web pages the kbb editor is referring to ... Has someone else has spotted such glaring differences ... as I always was under the impression that the Blue Book is a Bible for such references and I am quite disillusioned ?

A.From the Kelly Blue Book homepage (http://www.kbb.com/) select the used cars option. That should take you to a page titled "Kelly Blue Book Used Car Values" with two links on it: one titled "Goin' Shoppin'" which lists prices you could expect to pay for a used car at a dealership, and one titled "What's My Car Worth?" which lists prices that you could expect to get for your vehicle as a trade-in at a dealership. The "What's My Car Worth?" prices for the car you mentioned below are about $10000, and the prices for that same car in "Goin' Shoppin'" are $13000. It sounds like you tried to campare a trade-in value from the web version to a retail value from the paper version.
