Loan Value On Used Cars
Q.I'm in the market for a used car and trying to be smart about it. Using the Kelley blue book, you get a retail value as well as a tradein value. Where between those should I expect the private sale to lie?
A.The Blue Book is not a good guide,It is usually way off on the true values.Very few banks or loan companies use the blue book,and even fewer dealers.It seems to be more accessible to the average person but really is near worthless.Use the N.A.D.A guide.Most banks,dealers,and loan co`s use it.It has retail,loan value,and trade in value.It bases it`s values from actual sales and is regional.If you can buy a car at loan value you are usually getting a good price
