Nj Cheap Used Cars

Q.I am a grad student in Biomedical Engineering at Wright State Univerisity in Dayton, OH. I am from New Jersey and went to school in Philly, and in neither place so you need a car but I do now. Is anyone in the Dayton/ Cincinnati/Columbus areas selling cheap used cars?

A.This bill in congress is intent on federally funding such programs as those in N.J.. The 1991 Highway Act prevented federal mony from being used for those type of programs. You think the programs are bad now, wait until the states don't have to pay for them! When there are so many other institutions causing or having the potential to cause harm to our environment, it seems really silly to bother with old cars. I find it hard to believe that the inevitably dwindling poputation of old cars still on the road contributes anything even slightly significant to our over-all levels of air & (surface and ground) water pollution. NJ sounds like a good place for us Southerners to come up & buy some cheap used cars. We drive 'em till the wheels fall off...and then we park 'em in the yard for parts
