What to price my used SL

Q.Would anyone have any idea what a fair used car price would be for a 1998 SL with 69,500 miles on it. All highway, car looks and drives like the day it left the lot. I have checked Kelly's Blue Book and Edmunds... But both have such wide ranges.. Saturn offered me $4,200 for it. I reminded them of how I was told only a short while ago by their salesperson of how "little they depreciate"...Well I guess he meant if you keep it in your garage 98% of the time... Wont be buying off them again.

A.I thought you were making a purely economic choice. I'm not as tall as you are, but wide, and I'd be happier if the saturn were a bit bigger myself, though I do fit OK. The seats.. Well, I've been in cars which were both better and worse.. Obviously it's not going to have seats like a volvo for under 13K new. I'd just point out that you're comparing the most basic saturn, with is a bit over 10K new, to a car with an MSRP of almsot 18K. The sl2 has much better seats than the SL in my opinion. The TDI is cool though too. Hope you like it! When we were car shopping last time when we slapped the features we wated on a jetta, it was over 25K. No thanks! That was even harder for us to justify because we were replacing a VW which had been a huge money pit for us. It's funny that it makes economic sense to let the car sit for two years. I can't help but think that a potential personal buyer would be a little smarter if you explain this situation to them. "You could pay more for this car in two years, or get it now." That way you don't have to pay insurance, potential loss, storage, timed service, etc.
