Search Used Cars

Q.Just a quick question/suggestion. I have noticed on several of the "local" results that come up when doing a Google search that the local results are oftentimes irrelevant and that their order seems to change frequently. I will give you a good example. When I typed in "Greenville NC cars" these are the results I get. Given the importance of these rankings to small businesses I do not understand why Google is not giving the local ranking that appears to those who have the highest ranking websites in the regular Google search. If the regular Google index truly reflects those pages that best match a particular search term, then why can't this concept be factored into the ranking of the local pages that appear?

A.When you click on See more results you get: Results 1-10 of about 2,794 for cars near Greenville, NC, USA Show only: Auto Repair - Auto Dealers Used Cars But I had used a differnt search, from the toolbar so it loooked a bit different again. I guess I'm not the Matt you're after - if you're after Matt Cutts, he doesn't generally (visibly) trawl these groups. BUT I think you've found a really interesting 'Googlebug' there - one worth exploring.. I did a site: search on Penske and I can't even find the word cars mentioned once on the site - so obviously either the local search thinks that cars and trucks are interchangeable, or perhaps its an anchor text issue.
