Then ask the dealer what would be a good price for a private sale. You can access Glass' Guide valuation service through a Vauxhall dealer website, and click 'part exchange', saving ?2.95. Assuming yours is 1.8l, it was discontinued early in 2001. The latest registration it gives is 2001Y, and for 20k miles, trade value is ?110 (excellent), ?400 (average) and ?710 (below average). It doesn't give mileage adjustment below 20k. You can probably add around ?000 for private sale.
