Second Hand Car Prices

Q.I'm looking for a cheap cassette deck. All I need it for is for recording off the radio so I can listen to stuff in my car. All I need it to be is reasonably modern looking (it doesent matter if its secondhand) Twin decks would also be nice and maybe a timer but apart from that I'm not bothered Only wanna spend about ?0 tops - can probably find one on eBay for that, but just wondered if there's anywhere else Some of the prices, even on Riicher Sounds are outrageous for outdated technology

A.I'd happily pit my top of the range Pioneer tape deck using TDK SA90 tapes that cost just 59p each from Richer Sounds, against anything you care to mention. In car cassette players are still freely available, so this hardly makes the technology outdated. Cassette decks by definition could never be as cheap as MP3 players etc, because of the number of moving parts and the type of media used. Sadly, most of the albums recorded onto cassette before everything went over to CD, were recorded on such crap quality tape, it was a total travesty. For a matter of a few pence extra, the recording companies could have used far superior tape, but oh no, lets rip the punters off...as usual. At the end of the day no wonder alternatives to the compact cassette was found Buying second hand tape decks is not a good idea unless you're sure about how much use they've had. Replacing the heads on a tape deck, will cost nearly as much as buying a new machine. My advice would be, buy a new one, preferably with three heads and lots of bells and whistles and then have loads of fun recording. Won't cost ?0 though
