Sell Used Car Free

Q.Used equipment and just about everything else can be sold after use. I'm not referring to copying tho. I've got some old M$ compilers that I'll eventually sell to someone that likes history. You sell a used car don't you?? Big difference between a car you own and software you just have a license for. How do you think your employer would feel if you sold the company car you were driving. After all, you had exclusive use of it. Why don't you have the right to sell it if you don't need it anymore?

A.As far as I know they haven't gone directly after users for trying to sell their OEM copy buy they have had OEM auctions pulled from Ebay and Yahoo and told free-ads papers not to carry ads for them. So they are indirectly stopping users selling OEM copies by trying to make sure they have nowhere to sell them I'm sure there are some people that are honestly surprised when they try to sell their OEM copy of Windows that they never used and waited too long to return their computer for a refund. The only solution I can think of is to require that the media is in an envelope with the EULA printed on it. That would at least put the EULA "in his face". I just checked the box that my Dell laptop came in and I found the XP shrink wrap package with the CD and a "Start Here" booklet but I couldn't find a printed copy of the Windows EULA anywhere. So there is indeed a set of circumstances where the user could find out too late that they can't sell their unused copy of OEM Windows. I think putting the media in an envelope with the EULA printed on it would entail enough "due diligence" to solve this problem.
