Q.over 100,000 miles before replacement, and "complete replacement" was never stated anywhere regarding the batteries.. And no real regular maintenance required like an IC engine (which can total thousands of dollars over the life of the car). Much lower cost of operation? Less maintenance? Better for the environment? No air pollution (from the vehicle)?

You take a $30k car, lease it to someone for two years for about $10k net, then turn around and sell it as "Super Gold Star Dealer Certified - 300 point checkup!" for $22,500, which is more than what most two year old suchlikes are going for. That's a premium over what they would get just selling any old "used car." The differential and the income can be much greater on more expensive cars, which can sell for near original list after two years of list hikes...
