Sell Used Cars

Q.I sold new cars one summer when I was 20 years old at the largest Ford dealer in Kansas. After 2.5 months, I left to return to Kansas State and I when I left, I was #2 on the leader board out of 70+ full time salespeople. Fully a third of them had been in the business 5 years or more. The #1 guy had been there 15 years. Who do you think you're kidding, moron? I'm confident that I made more money in 2.5 months selling cars than Kevin OMeara ever has at ANY job over the same time period. I'm a "used car salesman"?

A.I know a lot of people in that business, I have quite a few clients who sell cars, F&I guys, sales managers, general managers, and even some who own several large dealerships. Almost all of them earn a six figure income -- especially those who sell used cars. The exceptions are the new sales people -- but if they last, they will do well. I'm confident that they all do better than one Kevin OMeara. I have clients who are still on the sunny side of 25 years old who earn six figures selling used cars. Most of them have college degrees, too, but that doesn't help them sell more cars and make more money. They earn a lot because they work hard and work smart -- something I'm positive Kevin OMeara is not familiar with. Successful people do what unsuccessful people don't want to do and are afraid to do. Kevin OMeara is unsuccessful because he doesn't have what it takes to make it in the business world -- because he refuses to do what it takes and he is afraid. Very afraid. He's probably lazy, too. It is obvious that Kevin OMeara is envious of some used car salesman who sold him his last few cars at a premium price because Kevin OMeara doesn't have the balls to negotiate a fair, if not low, price. I'm pretty sure that Kevin OMeara believes that he practically stole his last few used cars he bought, but that's just one of the many psychological tricks of the trade that continue to confound the mental midget, Kevin OMeara.
