Selling used carsQ.Has any one here had any experience selling a used car? I'm thinking of selling mine, and I'm undecided between using the local newspaper classifieds or buying an ad in the Auto Trader paper. According to Blue Book and NADA, I could ask $6,500 for it, selling it as a "private party". A.We have these papers that come out once a week free to everyone in the whole county. You can advertise in them for about $2.00. That is where I advertise first, second choice is the Trading Post. I would note that book value is $6500 and you are asking $6000 OBO or what ever amount you are hoping to get... Why are you selling? I thought you liked that car. I'm thinking of selling this Pontiac Bonneville and getting a two door car so it's easier for me to get in and out... If you don't want the hassle, just drive it to some used car dealerships. Most will offer a decent price. Take the highest offer. I've done that a couple of times...didn't get blue book, of course, but got a pretty decent price with no hassles.
