chicago junkyards

Q.Can anyone suggest a junkyard in the chicago area. Orlando seemed like it had dozens when I was there. Here, I can't find any. Does anyone know of one.

A.Finding good ones is a little tougher, but finding them is easy. First victory auto wreckers despite their cute 20+ year old TV commerical sucks. The cars are stacked and many parts become ruined or inaccessable. The other yards in the ohare airport area, there are 2-3 in and around there with victory suck. The best yard I know is A-reliable's U-pull-it. They have 4 locations, 2 in blue island/dixmore on 138th and western just north of the adbandoned dixie mall (blues brothers) in harvey. Another is in chicago heights and the forth I think is in aurora. Their full serve stuff is a bit further north on western on the east side of the street. Also in blue island, visable from I57 is ABC auto parts and their self serve addition, circus autoparts. In harvey, there is a back in the weeds yard called brunos used auto parts and scrap metal. If bruno still lives, expect to haggle. Better for finding parts of older cars, expect to fight mother nature to get at them. It's on central south of 159th.
