Used Auto Parts Junk

Q., I might need to find a right fender for my Taurus. Is there any junk yard or used auto parts shop around Chapel Hill/Durham area?

A.I have bought parts at City Auto Salvage in Durham http://www.cityautosalvage.com/ If you use them, make sure they've actually pulled the part off the car before you go there. They seem to be pretty bad about doing that. It could be they've pulled parts for buyers who never have shown up or simply their manner of operation. But I had to wait a LONG time for a headlight once. But it fit perfectly, and it was 70 bucks there versus like 300 new from a dealer. You can google for used parts & find some of the junkyard networks that will allow you to search for locations that have the particular part, make, model & year etc. Try "used auto parts" as your search term. Did that to find a rear window for a 87 Mercury Tracer maybe 3 - 4 years back. Nearest junkyard that had one was McLambs down on Hwy 55 between Fuquay & Angier.
