Used Auto Parts Philadelphia

Q.Does anyone remember: "It's beginning to look a lot like Gimbels" ? If I recall correctly, the last year that they ran those commercials on the radio, they were slightly altered just a day or two before Christmas Day with a woman's voice covering over the word "Gimbels" with the word "Christmas" with some implications that they were trying to correct something. Apparently they were getting some (deserved IMO) flack about it? I don't think they ran those after that year.

A.I don't remember the woman voice-over correction, but I do remember the commercial, yes. Since we've recently gone through the list of Philly TV Commercials (Ideal, Jimmy's Used Auto Parts, Atlantic transmission, etc.), does anyone remember any Philadelphia Christmas Commercials? Someone mentioned a Robert Hall commercial. I know that John Wanamaker would advertise the annual light show, too. Straying from the local to the national level, here's two commercials which bear recollection: Remember Santa Claus sleding around on the Norelco Electric Razor? The end of the commercial would have the word "Noelco" superimposed on the screen. Then, of course, sung in Christmas Tree formation, with a candle held by each singer, and the flame being passed from singer to singer: "I'd like to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony, I'd like to by the world a Coke, and keep it company."
