Q.I just got some spark plug wires for my celica GTS? They cost me $120+tax (Canadian Dollars, i.e. $80 US) at Canadian Tire. Does that sound right? I think it's a little bit excessive, I think?

A.If you have the 3S-FE engine it sounds about right. These wires are expensive because you have to buy the distributor cap with the wires. The plug wires are part of the distributor cap. Toyota....."Oh, What a feeling"...........say that ten times while bent over the fender. They better be gold-plated, oxygen-free, titanium-core, made by the high priests of tibet, and have 0.000000000000000000000001% loss. What I don't understand is, why spark plug wires have to be replaced. I mean, why do they "wear out?"
