Q.I have a 1986 Plymouth Voyageur that is in need of a trans. It's got a 4-cyl auto. The damn thing doesn';t have enough power to get out of it's own way. I'm thinking I'd like to find a donor vehicle with a 2.2 turbo or the likes, and drop the whole works in. Can anyone out there tell me what I should be looking for to make this easy?

A.2.5 turbo with matching drivetrain (trans, CV axles, etc.) out of an '88-up Chrysler FWD vehicle. You will need EVERYTHING including the wiring harness, engine computer, air cleaner assembly, fuel tank with pump, fuel lines, etc., so your easiest route would be to find an '88-'91 turbo minivan and take it all. Another swap that can be done is a 3.0 V6 and matching (3-speed if you don't want problems) auto trans. searchable used auto parts nationwide. you have to use EVERYTHING....wiring harness, computer, fuel pump, you will actually most likely have to find a minivan gas tank that will take a high volume fuel pump.it's a lot of work, myself i have the same thing...a 1986 voyager with a 2.2 carb auto...i went the other way....i took a standard trans from a 1993 shadow.i might go to a 2.5 injected and convert it to carb.
